World’s only banana catsup museum in Laguna reopens after 3 years

MANILA, Philippines — The Catsup Museum in Cabuyao, Laguna has reopened its doors after three years following the pandemic, causing the museum's temporary hiatus, closure, and renovation.

The world's only banana catsup museum found in NutriAsia Cabuyao Plant in Cabuyao's Light Industry Science Park first opened in 2017 to detail the creation of the iconic Filipino condiment.

Visitors can now feast their eyes once more at exhibits like the History of Banana Hall about the history of banana catsup; the Banquet Hall, which displays the dishes best paired or eaten with the condiment; and the Manufacturing Hall, which displays the banana catsup process from harvesting to bottling.

Not to be missed is the museum's Maria Orosa Hall, which pays tribute to the pharmaceutical chemist and war heroine credited for inventing banana catsup.

Beyond displays directed at banana catsup, the museum also teaches about the Philippines' culinary heritage and Filipino virtues of ingenuity, resourcefulness, and hard work.

"This newly renovated museum, now ready to welcome visitors again, embodies the spirit of innovation and resilience that define our company and our nation," said NutriAsia President Angie Flaminiano.
