BISHOP Pablo Virgilio David of the Diocese of Kalookan was reelected president of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) on Saturday, July 8.
The 64-year-old prelate assumed the position during the CBCP's 126th plenary assembly on Saturday, at the Marzon Hotel in Kalibo, Aklan.
The bishop will be taking his second and last two-year term as head of the CBCP.
David was first elected to the post in July 2021, amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The CBCP is currently composed of 87 active bishops, three diocesan administrators and 43 honorary members who are retired bishops.
