DHSUD to turn over first batch of housing units under PBBM in Bacolod City in December 2023

The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) is set to turn over next month a total of 288 housing units for informal settler families and low income earners in Bacolod City.

DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar said the housing units housing units at the Yuhum Residences in Barangay Vista Alegre will be the first batch of those that will be distributed the under the Marcos administration’s housing program.

Currently, Acuzar said the first building of the Bacolod City local government unit (LGU) project is already in the final stages of construction.

For his part, Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez vowed continued support to DHSUD as he expressed gratitude to Acuzar for having Bacolod City as among the first LGUs to be enrolled under the Pambansang Pabahay.

During his tenure as congressman, Mayor Benitez acted as among the principal sponsor of the bill that eventually led to the enactment of Republic Act 11201 which created DHSUD.

“I am elated that Bacolod City is the first LGU that can deliver under the Pambansang Pabahay, since Mayor Benitez really works hard for the housing sector,” Secretary Acuzar said.
