Robbery suspect, pal gunned down in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY – A robbery suspect and his companion were gunned down by a man on a motorcycle on Araneta St. in Barangay 15 here on Friday, November 10.

Police identified the victims as Nobert Belonio Aguda, alias “Apong” of Barangay 35 here, and Kenneth Jamandre Española of Barangay 16, this city.

Police Major Elmer Bonilla, head of Police Station 1, said the victims were walking when the gunman tailed and shot them.

Police received a report about an alleged robbery incident but when they arrived in the area, they saw the victims lifeless with bullet wounds.

Recovered from the crime scene were eight empty fired cartridges and three deformed fired bullets of a .45 caliber firearm and a black bag containing a screw driver and pliers.

Bonilla said that Aguda was allegedly involved in several robbery and “Akyat-Bahay” or home invasion incidents. Police are checking the background of his companion to determine if he was involved in crimes.

Police are looking into vengeance as possible motive of the incident due to the background of Aguda.
