Agimat Pary-list Rep. Bryan Revilla was hospitalized after a case of food poisoning during his trip to Bangkok, Thailand.

In a Facebook livestream Thursday morning, Oct. 19, Revilla bared that he’s been in and out of the hospital after eating an unspecified food.

“So what happened to me was, I started having fever going back to Manila. Then the next day, kumuha tayo ng dugo, then doon natin nalaman na mataas ang infection, mataas ang WBC (white blood cells),” he said.

(Then the next day, they took blood, then we found out that the infection was high, the WBC was high.)

“Sa further examinations, they were able to find na swollen ang ating large intestine and kaya daw ng antibiotics. So two, three days, pinalabas ako dahil gumaling ako.”

(In further examinations, they were able to find that my large intestine was swollen and they said antibiotics could heal it. So two, three days, I was discharged because I already recovered.)

Then on Saturday, Oct. 14, Revilla returned to a medical facility after experiencing high fever.

“I was also given a procedure para mas guminhawa ang ating katawan (to make my body feel better), the percutaneous abdominal drainage,” the Agimat solon said. He explained that the procedure drained abscess from his large intestine.

Revilla says he has now recovered from the fever, but remains restricted to water and food through an IV tube.

“I just can’t wait to get better. Hopefully lumabas na ‘yung mga resulta natin para makalabas na tayo dito and slowly progress to eating properly,” he said.

(Hopefully the results will come out so we can get out of here and slowly progress to eating properly.)

“Medyo struggle din but what I do miss more is ang ating trabaho,” he said.

(It’s also a bit of a struggle, but what I do miss more is our work.)

He ended his livestream saying, “Guys, remember that health is wealth, you really have to take care of your health.”
