KRIS Aquino, known as the Queen of All Media, has shed light on the story behind the elegant ring she gave to ex-boyfriend, Batangas Vice Gov. Mark Leviste.
The revelation came after sharp-eyed netizens noticed the ring Leviste wore in a selfie he posted on Instagram on July 28, 2023. The photo was taken following his return to the Philippines after a vacation in the US where he accompanied the TV host-actress amid her battle with autoimmune diseases.
In the Instagram post, Leviste playfully made a finger heart gesture, drawing attention to the exquisite jewelry he was sporting.
Leviste wrote in the caption, “Nice to be back on air with my #GoodVibes partner @ornaldogwapitoo Sakay na kayo sa b'yaheng Kapitolyo! (Get on the Kapitolyo journey!) #ByahengKapitolyo #GoodVice #LingkodLeviste.”
The eye-catching ring is an 18K white gold Cartier Trinity ring, renowned for its intricate design and meaningful symbolism. According to Cartier's official website, this piece of craftsmanship is valued at $1570 or approximately P87,197.
The news of Leviste's ring swiftly made rounds on social media and was shared by Aquino's official fan page. The accompanying caption revealed that Leviste promptly resumed his duties in the Philippines after spending time in Los Angeles, California, where he had been with Aquino and her youngest son, Bimby, who was recovering from pneumonia.
“What truly caught people's attention was the magnificent Cartier trinity ring adorning his finger, purportedly symbolizing love, friendship, and fidelity. A comment on Mark Leviste's post before his return to the Philippines hinted that the ring was a heartfelt gift from none other than Kris Aquino herself,” the fan page captioned in Filipino.
In response to the post, Aquino then admitted that she indeed gave Leviste a Trinity ring as “a symbol of their love and friendship.”
She replied, “The reason I gave him the ring was, first of all, we were very much together then BUT whether we can make the journey together reach the finish line: the love, friendship, and the fidelity (meaning loyalty and commitment) to honor and respect what was and what is shall remain SOLID.”
“Marc and I both know we still have a lot of work to do as far as communication and not misinterpreting each other's words – the important thing is that we both know our kids come first.”
Despite the distance between them, Aquino said she strongly believes in the positive communication between the two of them.
She furthered, “The old me would be messaging Vice Gov Marc (it's really with a C) to argue with him on why he couldn't keep this private – but I've learned to accept him in his totality in the same way that he has learned to accept me for me.
“We're trying our best to make what we have work, and if I'm being 100 percent honest – a lot of my motivation comes from the fact that Kuya, Bimb, and I feel genuine affection & concern for his daughter (she's private, so I will refrain from mentioning her name) and his youngest C2 – I had posted about him in the past, so it's okay.
“C2 and Bimb are the same age, and he's staying with us. I'm very blessed because it's difficult for kids to get along with their respective parent's new partner and his or her kids.”
Leviste replied, “I [blue heart emoji] You.”
Aquino also mentioned that her current condition has taught her to be truthful in every situation.
“I am realistic; I'm battling five autoimmune conditions, and the odds of me getting to the point of remission are very much against me, so I'm learning to be grateful for each day I wake up. That's why I avoid discussing the future – I continue to be grateful that we have a merciful and loving God who listens to your prayers. Thank you because YOU GIVE ME HOPE.”
It was on July 10 when Aquino confirmed her breakup with Leviste. It marked the first time where the 52-year-old publicly addressed their relationship since their dating rumors emerged in January. Aquino bid him farewell to fulfill his responsibilities as a public servant in Batangas.
Since June 2022, Aquino has been residing in the United States to undergo medical treatment for several autoimmune disorders.
