Allein Maliksi and Alvin Pasaol delivered big time as the Meralco Bolts scored a vengeful 78-50 drubbing of Al Arabi SC to finish seventh in the 2023 Doha International Basketball Tournament on Saturday night, September 30 in Doha, Qatar.
Maliksi led the Bolts with 18 points, highlighted by five triples, while Pasaol, the former high-scoring forward out of University of the East added 16.
Both Meralco players provided the spark as the Bolts' two reinforcements- Feron Hunt and Uros Lukovic Serbian played sparingly in the team's final game.
Hunt played just over seven minutes and went scoreless, while Lukovic finished with two points and a rebound in four and a half minutes of action.-
The win was a huge payback for Meralco, which bowed to the same Kuwaiti club team, 80-72 in their group play.
The Bolts concluded the tournament with a 1-4 record, a similar slate with Al Arabi, but the Kuwaiti club finished eighth due to inferior quotient.
