PH consulate in Honolulu advises Filipinos to check on missing persons in wildfires

THE Philippine Consulate in Honolulu, Hawaii has informed Filipinos living in Maui to advise them of missing individuals in the wildfires at Lahaina.

An advisory on Saturday said this is in line with the US Department of State's assistance in submitting names of missing persons.

“The US Department of State – Office of Foreign Missions has also sought the assistance of foreign missions in submitting the names of missing foreign nationals to facilitate the identification and reunification process,” the consulate wrote on Facebook.

“In this regard, the public is requested to advise the Philippine Consulate in Honolulu of relatives or friends who remain unaccounted for by providing any of the following information: First and last name of missing person, Date of birth or age, Last known whereabouts, Last known physical address, Phone number, Unique physical identifiers, tattoos, or any other potential physical identification descriptions, and Contact information of the reporting party, including first and last name, phone number, email address, physical address and relationship to the missing person,” they added.

The consulate informed the public in the area that if there is a name they recognize, they can call the US Federal Bureau of Investigation at +1 (808) 566-4300 or [email protected].

In addition, should they wish to provide additional information, they can send an email to the Maui Police Department at [email protected].
