Given the chance, award-winning actor Piolo Pascual said he would like to play the role of former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. in a future project.

Piolo made the revelation as he promoted his concert, “An Ultimate Night With Piolo,” which will be held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City on Oct. 20.

The hunk actor, who also stars in the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 horror entry, “Mallari,” said portraying the former president’s character is one of his future goals.

“This one is intriguing. All my life, I wanted to do a story about Marcos. Ferdinand Marcos. I grew up not during Martial law. I was born in 1977. But I was alive during the EDSA Revolution. So, I grew up during Marcos’s time. So yun lang. Nagawa ko na yung NInoy sa ‘MMK’ and I find that person interesting,” said Piolo, when asked about his dream role, during the media conference held at KAO Manila at Newport World Resorts.

Piolo, 46, said hopes to do the Marcos project in three years. “Siguro in three years, kapag may edad na ako. Thirty pa lang kasi ako ngayon eh.”

For his concert, which Johnny Manahan will direct, Piolo will be taking concert-goers on a date night filled with a wide variety of music, and surprise special guests will surely take the audience’s breath away.

Shortly after the concert, Piolo will head to North America this November for a five-stop international concert tour in the US and Canada.

In November, Piolo will be releasing a new album under Star Music with Jonathan Manalo in the producer’s chair.

The album will contain eight tracks, with Piolo performing alongside Juriss, Morissette, Yeng Constantino, KZ Tandingan, Moira Dela Torre, Kyla, and Regine Velasquez.

Last June 2023, in a bid to push his acting and musical chops to new limits while raising funds for a good cause, Piolo debuted on the musical theater stage as the titular star of the critically acclaimed original Filipino stage musical “Ibarra.”
