Pokwang files petition for deportation against ex-partner

In an Instagram post, the comedienne said the decision to file was for the benefit of their daughter, Malia.

“Para sa karapatan ko at ng anak ko, para sa mga kapwa ko babae at sa bayan ko (For me and my child's rights, for my fellow women and my country),” Pokwang wrote in the caption as she showed a photo of the petition documents.

In an interview with Boy Abunda back in February, Pokwang tearfully disclosed that her relationship with O'Brian came to an end due to a confrontation regarding their joint business venture. She expressed that O'Brian took offense when she raised questions about the business, which she had financially supported.

(It is my right to know as your business partner, 'What are we? Where are we? What is happening?' I'm just asking him for updates, I feel like that's my right. He took it differently),” Pokwang said during the interview.

“Halos one year na akong walang naririnig…

(I haven't heard anything for almost a year… That's normal. 'Last month, this was our expense.' That's all I'm asking for. He didn't like it. He felt like I'm judging him right away. It seems like he took away my right to know),” she continued.

She said that she expressed her desire for her daughter Malia to have a complete family, the reason why she decided to lie about the real reason for their breakup in several interviews.

(“Yes we broke up but I gave him many chances. I gave him a lot of signals saying 'please, fix this for Malia,'” she revealed.

It was in January 2015, when Pokwang entered into a relationship with O'Brian, whom she worked with in the film “Edsa Woolworth” which was released in theaters in that same month. The former couple announced in August 2015 that Pokwang suffered a miscarriage.

After trying to have another baby, Pokwang gave birth to Malia on Jan. 18, 2018. Pokwang and O'Brien separated in November 2021, with the comedienne having custody over their daughter.

In January this year, Pokwang disclosed that O'Brien was dating someone new since their breakup in July last year.
