The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Thursday, Oct. 19 said parts of Luzon may still experience rains due to the shear line and northeasterly wind flow.
PAGASA said the shear line—the area where the cold northeasterly wind flow and the warm easterly winds converge—will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, and Central Luzon.
The northeasterly wind flow or the initial blast or cold breeze from the northeast will also bring cloudy skies with rains over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao and Kalinga.
PAGASA warned of flash floods and landslides in areas affected by the shear line and northeasterly surface wind flow due to the occurrence of moderate to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms because of the northeasterly wind flow and localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA also warned the public against flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms. (Lizst Torres Abello)
