Sarina Bolden delivered the first-ever World Cup goal of the Philippines in the Filipinas match against co-host New Zealand in the FIFA Women's World Cup at the Sky Stadium in Wellington on Tuesday, July 25.
Bolden headed the ball in off a Sara Eggesvik high cross as the former delivered from inside the box in the 24th minute, sending the Filipino crowd at the stadium into a frenzy.
The Filipinas are still battling the Ferns as of posting time and if they hold on for the win, they would remain in contention for a top two finish in Group A.
That merits a passage to the round of 16.
