The series revolves around the complicated journey of long-lost sisters who were separated from one another at a very young age. The eldest sister, Diana (Dizon), makes it her life's mission to reconnect with her sisters, Amy and Beth, no matter what it takes. However, their personal motives for their dreams, family, revenge, and money spiral into calamitous events that threaten to ruin their lives.

The excitement surrounding the series is evident with the actors themselves thrilled to be part of a project that challenges them to portray mature and complex characters.

In an exclusive interview with The Manila Times, Ilacad shared that she has been eagerly waiting for a role like this, one that allows her to explore the depths of her character's emotions and motivations.

“This is the kind of project that I've been wanting for the longest time and the kind of role that I've been itching to portray, so I'm so excited. With my character, it's giving both protagonist and antagonist vibes. I'm not just a kind person; I also have a thirst for revenge and causes that my character will truly fight for,” who plays the role of Angela said.

Estrada, who plays Elon, expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity to showcase his acting skills without the musical element, as opposed to his previous series and theater experiences.

“What I love about this role is that I'm not a teen anymore. I really want to show the distinction that I'm 23 in here,” Estrada shared.

“This is going to be just pure acting. I'm still adjusting to that because we just came from theater but it did help with my acting,” he continued.

The absence of music means that he and Ilacad, who previously worked together for shows like “Run To Me” and PETA's “Walang Aray” must now focus solely on their acting chemistry.

The twists

Dizon shared that surprises and twists in the story keep the cast members constantly amazed by the scripts they receive, making every step of the journey exhilarating.

“There are still so many discoveries that you'll unravel when you watch the show – why we said those lines, what does the scene meant, and many more. The camaraderie of the cast is like a breath of fresh air; it's like an ensemble cast. We hope that viewers will see how evident our support for each other is, and how we all share the same goal of making the show even better,” enthused Dizon.

Meanwhile, Joson teases that the trailer only scratches the surface of the exciting stories and character arcs that await the audience.

“There's so much more to discover about each character's story. I can assure you, it's going to be one exhilarating ride,” Joson, who plays the role of Hilary said.

On the other hand, Marco mentioned that the two-year absence of an afternoon drama show on ABS-CBN further adds to the anticipation of the series' debut.

“Afternoon shows were halt for more than two years, so everyone is thrilled to be part of this project. The cast brings a breath of fresh air, and the chemistry among each member is unique. I'm really excited for viewers to see all the hard work we put into this,” he said.

New network, veteran cast

With the series marking ABS-CBN and TV5'S first co-production venture, Andalio and Alonte happily shared that it is an exciting opportunity to have “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso” aired on another network.

“It's both exciting and nerve-wracking, but I'm more excited because our 'Kapatid' will also get to watch it. This is my first time appearing on TV5,” Andolio mentioned.

“I had a one-time experience of appearing in a game show on TV5 before, but it's entirely different when viewers get to watch us every day in a series. The regularity of being onscreen brings a whole new level of excitement and anticipation,” continued Alonte.

The series also provides the cast with a unique opportunity to work with seasoned actors such as Sunshine Dizon, Epy Quizon, Art Acuña and Snooky Serna.

Andalio shared she initially was nervous saying, “During the initial days, you feel a bit unfamiliar and unsure, but on our first day of filming, I felt how approachable everyone was. You don't feel out of place; they make you feel like you're part of their family.”

Directed by Raymund Ocampo and Roderick Lindayag and produced by Dreamscape Entertainment, “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso” airs Monday to Friday on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, TFC, A2Z, and TV5 at 3 p.m. and Saturdays at 2:30 p.m.
